Day 87~ March 28,2011 Sunset

Since I posted a sunrise yesterday I thought it was fitting to post a sunset today, especially since Mother Nature provided such a pretty one today.

Day 84~ March 25, 2011 Preparing for Easter

This bunny couple is busy preparing eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. They are hiding out in our office while they make their preparations.

Day 82~March 23, 2010 Classic Car

You never know what or when you will find something interesting to photograph. I spotted this car parked in a parking garage. It's licensed but judging by the coat of dust, it hasn't been on the road recently. Still I love these classic cars.

Day 81~ March 22, 2011 Jellybean Cocktail

Candy always seems to be a popular subject so I was just trying different ways to present these jellybeans.  What was it we were told as kids? Never play with your food?

Day 80 Maech 21, 2011 Sleeping with one eye open

I know, I know. It's  another cat picture but I couldn't resist. Rocky was all tucked into a box that came in the mail today. One eye was open just a crack so I thought he's perk up when he saw the camera but he never moved.  I took several pictures and he never opened  his other eye or closed this one completely.

Day 79~ March 20,2011 Moon~Still a work in progress

Moonrise was not until 8:37 pm tonight so it was full dark. I ran through the tripod and camera settings before I headed out so I didn't have those problems this time but the remote release wouldn't work. I had the same problem with it when I tried taking photos of Holiday lights. It works in the nice warm indoors but does nothing once I really need it in the cold!

This is a long way from good but it's getting better than yesterday in some respects. I think yesterday's post was a better composition but the moon was completely "blown out. Tonight there is a hint of the "Man in the moon"so it's not so over-exposed. The part that bothers me is that out of 30 photos, all had camera shake even with the tripod.  I wouldn't call this a "keeper" but it's all I have to offer today. I'll just have to keep trying.

Day 78~March 19, 2011 The Full Moon

This was a special full moon. I think they said it would be 30% closer than normal or some such thing. Anyway, I tried to capture it tonight. I used a very high ISO so there's alot of "noise" and not alot of detail in the moon. But it's my first try and it's a learning experience.

Day 77~ March 18, 2011 Rocky and the Cat Planter

I was trying to et a photo of the cat planter. While I was setting up Rocky kept close watch. I knew  this was going to be a problem because he was just too interested. As soon as I brought out the camera he was right up there with the cat sculpture/plant holder. Experience has shown, when he wants to pose...just go for it!

Day 75~ March 16, 2011 Rocky the Entertainer

I wasn't feeling inspired today. It was raining hard so I was just hanging out inside. I had my Point & Shoot on my desk when Rocky started chasing a balloon around. I'd cut most of the ribbon off so if he did get it he wouldn't make himself sick by eating the ribbon. He completely wrecked the desk before he gave up but I did get some shots of the action. Here's one for today's photo of the day. I will post the others on Flickr.

Day 73 ~ March 14, 2011 3 Mile River

I guess Old Man Winter doesn't want us to forget he still has a few more days til spring because as I was finishing my walk in the woods today, it started to snow! Just a few flakes but enough of a reminder that I wrapped up my walk and headed home. But before I left I took this picture of the 3 Mile River.

Day 72~March 13, 2011 Plymouth Harbor

It's "Spring Forward" Sunday and I got to leave work at 6pm instead of 8pm. I can't remember the last time the sun was still out when I left work!. I took advantage of the sunlight and headed into Plymouth to see what I could find for  today's photo.

Day 71! March 12, 2011 Looking for Fish at the Herring Run

I don't know who the people are in my picture. I just liked what I saw . I hope it tells you a story.

Day 70~March 11, 2011 White Rose

Digital -Photography-School .com had a challenge about 2 weeks ago. The challenge/ theme was  All White. I've been working on it without much success. The shadows in my snow shots looked blue, my white  ballet dancer looked off white and had a strange reflection where her paint was "weathered". I couldn't find a certain prop that I wanted to get so I was about to put the theme on the back burner when I thought...can I make a white silk rose look like it's sitting in...nothingness? A black void? This actually really brought out the white so enough talk. Here is the result.

Day 69 ~ March 10, 2011 Corner of the Desk

Tough day all around today....From nearly being forced off the road by a speeding, maniac driver to locking myself out of the house. I thought a little bit lighter theme would be a good ending and set the stage for a better tomorrow.

Day 67~ March 8, 2011 Green River Reflections

I was here, there, everywhere today. I took 139 photos. When the dust settled there were a number of pictures that I would have been happy to put here but this one appealed to me the most. It was taken on the River Walk Trail at the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 66~ March 7, 2011 Church Doors

I was driving by this church in Taunton on RT 138 and the doors caught my eye. They made me think of  doors to a medieval castle.

Day 65~March 6, 2011 Grapes at work

Another long shift...12 hours...dark when I drove in and dark when I went home. As I was moaning about needed a subject for today's post, Jay suggested  grapes. He had some lovely purple grapes at his desk. This of course led to a discussion of wine and the variouis vineyards in the area. Sounds like a good subject for an aroundustyroads post! In the meantime, here are the grapes.

Day 64 ~ March 5, 2011 Birthday Cake

Ahhhh it's the Birthday that never ends. My birthday was Feb. 15 but my friend Mya surprised me with a birthday dinner on Monday and today at work she and my friend Julie surprised me with a birthday cake! I am really lucky to have such wonderful friends. Thank you :)

Day 63~March 4, 2011 AAA Travel Marketplace

I've heard a great deal about the AAA Marketplace that is held once a year in Foxboro at Gillette Stadium so this year I decided to go to see if I could get any more travel information. Today was the first day and even so, it was very busy. I didn't take the DSLR with me because of the crowds but my little point & shoot fit right in my pocket. I was on the 2nd floor of the event and could see a good portion of the floor below so I thought I'd grab the shot.

Day 62~ March 3, 2011~ Gillette Castle

Interesting day on the Connecticut River. I'll be writing some posts for the http://aroundustyroads.com/ blog  but for now I will share a picture from the boat ride. Not an eagle but a castle, Gillette Castle.

Day 61, 2011 March 2, 2011 If it isn't a Leprechaun

St. Patty's day is right around the corner and as I was out and about today I happened across this little fellow checking out the area. I'm sure he's getting ready to celebrate when the  big day rolls around! No Pot of Gold but no rainbow either. Just a wild Irish Rose. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of his kind in the coming days.

Day 60~ March 1, 2011 Falls at Oliver Mill Park

It was clear and cold with a beautiful blue sky. I didn't get to the park until around 3:30pm. Although it looked like a spring day it didn't feel like it and I can testify to the ice that was still underfoot. The waters are getting higher as snow has begun melting and we've had several days of rain. The little water fall is running well.
